The Journals Trilogy is a favorite series of mine so when I knew Awakening was releasing soon, I was excited, happy, and sad to read it. I have become attached to many of these characters and it is hard to say goodbye.This story did not disappoint! It was both thrilling and suspenseful. This whole series took you on a crazy ride and it was a ride you didn’t want to get off of.
D.M. did an amazing job in closing out this series. Both the story and the characters were well written. I am suffering from a book hangover but I regret nothing. I give this 5 stars!

I have read each of the Journals as they have arrived and I feel in love with Quinn. This trilogy is like nothing I have read before. I have been horrified and gutted, all while being astounded by all Quinn has accomplished. I couldn't wait for the finale of this trilogy, Quinn needed her HEA. DM has accomplished that while still keeping the suspense and action at the forefront, keeping you turning those pages to see how things turn out.
After everything that Quinn has endured in her life over the past 10+ years would have most of us crawling in a whole and never coming out. Not Quinn, she fights back, she does everything she can to support her family and tries desperately to move forward from her past. At each corner that damn past finds it way back, slowing the process to the future. She is finally certain that the past can be the past. But once again things start to go array. Will she ever get her future.
Stone has been doing everything he possibly can since that fated night to help Quinn. Hiding in the background for all those years as a secret bodyguard of sorts. When the threats finally were enough he had to make himself know, it was a not received very well to start. Over these years he as slowly fallen in love with the strong woman. Fighting with everything he has to win he heart and stand beside her in her future.
Can Quinn and Stone forge ahead in their future? Will they finally rid themselves and her family of the past?
DM Thank you for bringing us Quinn and her story. I am certain that this was wasn't an easy one to write. Readers who are wanting to give the Journal's trilogy a try, you must read from the beginning in order to get the full story. Be prepared to go right through them one after the other.
D.M. Earl is not a writer for the faint of heart. Her series, The Journals Trilogy, is a dark, gritty, and suspenseful story whose characters bring forth an extreme determination and will to survive. While the situations and events in the story may cause triggers due to descriptive and explicit violence and intense sexual situations, the writer has interwoven a message of hope and support within such a dark world. And her characters are extremely strong and raw, revealing a relatable side within such a horrific situation.
In this final installment, Awakening ties up the loose ends surrounding the horrors Quinn has worked hard to survive. She is a true fighter, a woman who gives her all to move forward and do all she can to protect her family. And now that the person who brought forth this nightmare is gone, it is time to move forward and find herself. It is time to awaken from the past, from the need to run and survive, and to learn to live and, hopefully, to find love. It is time to shed the victim role and take life by the horns. But changing habits and learning to trust others is difficult. As Quinn learns, healing takes time but it is possible, especially with loved ones by your side. Stone is still the alpha male readers have come to love, and the chemistry and passion is kicked up a notch. Get ready for an intense and extremely satisfying conclusion to this outstanding series.
But the story is not completely over, using well-crafted character who are complex, Earl has built a storyline that can easily spin off into additional stories about the supporting character who have secrets and a past that must be revealed and shared. It is my hope that we will see these characters come to life on the pages in the next few stories D.M. Earl has up her sleeve. (Can't wait to learn all about Spirit, who has her own story coming soon.)
This is the last book in The Journals Trilogy and if you think that means everything will go smoothly after everything that happened in the last two books you would be sadly mistaken.
Quinn is finally safe after Stone manages to protect her from Walker. Yet things happen that make her realize that the nightmare is not over yet.
Can Stone and his crew keep Quinn and her family safe and when someone from Stone's past comes back into his life things are apart to get even more turned upside down.
Will they figure out everything before Walker somehow gets the last laugh?
This was such an amazing conclusion as the journey and hell is not over yet for Quinn and her family. Just as Quinn begins to think that she is safe she realizes that the battle is not over yet and someone is double crossing Stone.
I still love both Quinn and Stone and I was shocked with what was revealed about Stone's past although I must admit I was suspicious as that person doesn't seem like someone who would have let him walk away.
I was shocked at the "evil lady" in the book and how full of lies she was, especially considering her job. She was so twisted and it was no wonder her child had issues.
The ending was scary and I was so proud of how it ended in a way. Scared but happy!
The epilogues were absolutely awesome and I was glad how everything ended for everyone!!
